  • Voter Swing Coat

The Cape was created to inspire people to eliminate or reduce single-use plastics such as straws, cutlery, to-go containers/cup tops, and condiment packets. It is completely covered in old straws creating the effect of black faux fur.  The straws were donated to the project by food service businesses in Portland Oregon that committed to offering straws only upon request, and thus were left with a huge stock of straws. The sculpture is partially created in public workshops around Oregon including in events at Oregon Capital, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and the Oregon Zoo.
