Convertible Trashique
|
Commissioned by Toyota in 2007
Convertible
Trashique is made from car parts! The jacket, skirt
and blouse are made from convertible soft-tops. The “faux
fur” on the lapel of the jacket is made from electrical wire. The hat is
made from a front-end mask and accented with electrical copper wire. The
purse is woven out of electrical wire and metal "paper" that are wound
around electrical components. This ensemble took 150 hours to create.
Cars and the Environment
Almost one-third of the carbon dioxide produced in the United States
comes from cars, trucks and airplanes. Our transportation choices have a
HUGE environmental impact. Be an eco-leader and make smart choices:
· When it is time for a new car, choose a more fuel-efficient
vehicle.
· Reduce the number of miles you drive by walking, biking,
carpooling or taking mass transit wherever possible.
· Keep your car tuned- regular maintenance helps improve fuel
efficiency and reduces emissions. When just 1% of car owners properly
maintain their cars, nearly a billion pounds of carbon dioxide are kept
out of the atmosphere.
