Recycled Cowgirl

This outfit is made of old phone book pages that were woven together and made into a skirt and vest. Woven directories also cover the vintage "pee-wee" cowgirl boots and hat. CDs containing phone directories are used to accent the outfit. The hat, vest, skirt and boots took 125 hours to create.
Phone directories are made of up to 90% recycled paper and are recyclable!
Many
communities have annual phone book recycling programs. Unfortunately only 16% of
used phonebooks are recycled. The recycled directories are made into new phone
books, insulation, cat litter, roofing material or cereal boxes.
Be an eco-leader and recycle your old phone books at work, home, school and
church!
