Plastic Bathing Beauty
|
Created in 2004
Colorful number 2 HDPE post-consumer plastic detergent bottles were cut into circles, punched with two holes and hand-sewn onto a 1950s vintage bathing suit, an umbrella and shoes. It took 150 hours to create the bathing suit, umbrella and shoes.
Plastic Recycling Tip
Check the neck! If the neck of a plastic container is smaller than the base,
chances are it is recyclable! You can double check by looking on the bottom of a
container, a number 1 or 2 in the middle of the recycling symbol, means that it
is recyclable in most communities around the country. Plastic is most commonly
recycled into: carpet and clothing, new containers, plastic pipe, and plastic
lumber (decks, benches, picnic tables).
