A New Home for Recycle Runway
Hello Everyone,
It has been a long time since I have been in touch about my Recycle Runway projects. I have some very exciting news to tell you about and I want to ask for your help.
The miraculous journey of creating recycled fashion sculptures, mounting exhibits, giving presentations, and conducting workshops nationally is now transitioning into new adventures for me. My work in education, sustainability and creative endeavors continues through my new position beginning two years ago as education specialist with the New Mexico History Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I love this job as I become more familiar with the complex history of New Mexico and can utilize my arts integration training with students of all ages.
The Recycle Runway Collection is starting a new adventure as well!
It will become a permanent exhibition in the newly created Conscious Couture Museum and Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia! Tanjuria Willis, who founded Atlanta Sustainable Fashion Week four years ago, is the visionary behind what is the first sustainable fashion museum in the Americas. Tanjuria writes in her description:
“Fashion has the power to influence culture, but it also has a significant impact on the environment and society. The Museum will serve as a beacon of hope and innovation, showcasing the beauty of sustainable fashion while educating and empowering individuals to make conscious choices. We will curate engaging and immersive exhibits that highlight the history, impact, and future of sustainable fashion, featuring innovative designs, eco-friendly materials, and ethical production practices.”
I am honored and thrilled that my life’s work will be a part of this inspiring organization! I am also tremendously grateful to Tanjuria for believing so deeply in my work. Thirty-four of my recycled fashion sculptures will become a permanent cornerstone feature of the museum.

Tanjuria and I are currently raising the necessary funds to transport my work from Portland, OR; Richmond, VA; and Albuquerque, NM to Atlanta, GA. To that end, I have made an initial gift to this project and am inviting you to join me by contributing as well. You can learn more about the project and contribute from the Conscious Couture Museum’s website. While on the website, make sure to explore the rest of the pages to see photos of Sustainable Fashion Week Atlanta and learn about Tanjuria’s other exciting endeavors!
Lastly, I want to thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for your generous support and encouragement over the years!
One of the gifts of Recycle Runway has been meeting and working with all of you on various projects. I have been truly blessed to have had this amazing adventure and to share it with each of you!
Thank you in advance for any amount you can give that will help send Recycle Runway on to its next chapter. I could not ask for a more perfect home for my sculptures and can’t wait to see the different ways Tanjuria uses them to help people think about waste, sustainability and fashion in new ways!
